I am lucky enough to spend a lot of time in the far north and I never grow tired of it. May is a perfect time of the year to be there, days are cooler at around 26 degrees, the wet season is over, the water is warm and stinger free and we were there to shoot their Carnivale celebration.
Shooting with the wonderful Paul Croll DoP, the laughter and banter never stopped. We even managed to keep the conversation flowing through to 1.30am over many cups of tea and analasys of all of the world's major issues spinkled with fascinating facts like the speed of electrons traveling through a cable is a mere walking pace, 4 miles per hour!
Unfortunately it was a quick trip this time but heading back up for my next project there in 3 weeks time, shooting in Cairns, Port Douglas, the Daintree Rainforest and out on the Great Barrier Reef. I will no doubt post more pics once I am out there!
This time I tried my hand at interviewing some of the locals (with limited success)

And here is the finished product
