I have worked in reality TV before but never with a crew this large and with so many natural and man made variables thrown at me! Thunderstorms that dump 150ml in 30 minutes, Celebrities who dive into waterfalls and billabongs expecting their radio mics to still function, swinging multiple booms to catch important conversation whilst staying out of 2 or 3 cameras view, trudging up and down steep rainforest slopes in the rain with only a knotted rope to keep you and your 30kg of gear upright all the while avoiding leeches and ticks is the ultimate challenge! But I came out the other end, fitter, faster and I would like to think - a better soundo for it!A week of R&R and I am ready for the next challenge! Sadly I just missed out on the chance to record Chimps at Taronga Zoo on a job that would have placed me mentally back in the jungle :) The gear has been cleaned and dried, I have re-equipped with a wonderful new 442 mixer, bag and harness and I am ready for whatever gets thrown at me next - Bring it on!
