It was an action packed four days with our host Scotty Mcrae taking on everything from squash and tennis to sailing, jet skiiing, horse riding, laser skirmish and fossicking in a working mine, all from the back of a Can-Am Spyder! From a soundo's point of view it was a demanding shoot micing all the activities with camo jackets, life vests and motorcycle jackets to get in the way of lavaliers not to mention keeping transmitters hidden and in place without disrupting the natural flow of the show. Our new Loud and Clear radio belts were an excellent investment, keeping everything in place and our host comfortable, not to mention piece of mind knowing your expensive transmitters are not going to slip out of a pocket on the fast and furious corners of Mt Tamborine taking your prize investment of Tram microphones with it!
We met some amazing people along the way, eating the most amazing seafood platter I have ever seen from George's Paragon Seafood Restaurant and sampling some divine liqueurs and schnapps from the Mt Tamborine Distillery. Michael from the distillery is an amazing character with plenty of stories to tell and well worth a visit for a chat and a tipple. We put a dent in 3/4 bottle of wattle seed liqueur that night with dinner and woke feeling far fresher than I imagined due to the fact that the product is all natural with absolutely no chemicals and everything in it is either sourced from the property or the area around it.
