What was planned for this trip to Sydney was a relaxing morning followed by yum cha with the voice over fraternity, a couple of easy hours in the studio at Qantas and time to primp ready for the launch party at the Ivy. What transpired was being called in by my new agent, booked for half a day in the studio at Captiv8 in Bondi, a mad dash back to the jetbase for 3 recordings and a mix, back up to Media City in Everleigh for a meeting with New Idea then back to Bronte for a quick shower and back into the city for the official kick-off of RMK Crew.
I think I can count being part of RMK now as a success! Everyone seemed genuinely excited last night (and I am sure it had nothing to do with the free food and drinks) Sam Downs has orchestrated something very needed in the industry from both a production point of view and for the crew he represents. Hand picked skilled crew are matched to job enquiries based not just on their availability but more importantly their skill range, experience and aptitude - providing a perfect match for the role needed. The crew benefit by working in projects that fit them and the industry gets the right people for the job with one simple phone call.
I am very proud and excited to be associated with this pioneering venture which so far is a 100% success for me from day one!
Sam how many jobs have you booked for me next week?....
